Monterey Majestic
Sire of Majestic Lad

Stud Sires
Sire
selection is of critical importance to Montereys breeding
programme and to the ongoing viability of our operation. Sires must
be of superior quality and excel in our cornerstone traits if they
are to make a positive contribution to the herds productivity
and viability.
During
2000-2001, our "walking" bulls consisted of Monterey
Star Chief, Monterey
Starlight, Monterey
Majestic Lad, Monterey
Tremendous, Monterey
Sundowner, Monterey Ambassador, Martindale
Tallwood and Hermitage
Better Canna Be, plus yearlings. An outstanding sire battery
that had an average weight of 1140+ kg, with the majority
being trait leaders on group breedplan.
All
of our sires are bred from top class maternal cows, as it is our
belief that sires breed daughters similar in type to their dams.
Our
current sires possess "the optimum mix"- impressive
physical characteristics and well-balanced EBVs.
We
have retained one outstanding U drop bull for use as a Junior Sire-
Monterey
Unit Holder U95. He is listed on the Group Breedplan Junior
Traitleaders List, and has, we believe, a beautifully balanced set
of performance figures, perhaps the best of the Breeds 1999
drop.
AI
sires to be used in this years mating programme will include
Monterey
Shiloh, Monterey
Millennium, Monterey Momentum P42, Monterey Tycoon, Monterey
Truman, Bundaleer Prophet, Maneroo Julian and Woodbourn Rambo.
